    From day one we were never building just a note app. Progress in large models finally lets us ship the ideaShell we meant to build: a new Agent that does not only capture ideas but helps turn them into action, and a global memory that understands you, remembers you, and knows you better the more you use it. To us, 2.0 is the real 1.0.

  3. What we are working on

    For the past few months we have been rethinking and rebuilding the next stage of ideaShell.

    We want it to do more than capture ideas — to understand what you need, remember what matters, and take those ideas further into action.

    Towards that, we are working on:

    • A new Agent
    • Personalised global memory
    • A rebuilt Ask AI
    • Web, macOS and Windows
    • Generating documents, decks and web pages
    • Deeper file understanding and knowledge management
    • More natural, faster recording and transcription

    These will arrive across the coming releases, moving ideaShell from capturing ideas to understanding them, connecting information, and helping you turn them into action.

  44. Apple Watch: Raise to Record

    Ideas tend to arrive while you are busy with something else — walking, commuting, juggling. Raise your wrist, start talking, and it records; the audio transcribes back to your iPhone without breaking what you were doing or reaching for your phone. A double tap gesture brings it up, and on pre-Series 9 watches AssistiveTouch does the same job.

    Typing will never keep up with thinking — that is where ideaShell started. Traditional note and idea apps stop at capture, behaving like external storage that cannot grow. We wanted ideas to move from capture to thinking, and then to action: the way a grain of sand inside a shell is polished, over time and thought, into a pearl.
